Significance
Lord Ganesha is Vighnaharta, the remover of obstacles, and Pratham Pujya — the deity worshipped first, before any other puja or undertaking. Families perform Ganesh Puja before a new business, a new vehicle or the start of studies, and above all on Ganesh Chaturthi, when the murti is welcomed home with sthapana and later taken for visarjan.

Before the day, settle these details
Bring these details to the conversation so the arrangements fit your family.
- Tell the pandit the occasion — Ganesh Chaturthi, a new venture or another beginning.
- Confirm whether you already have a murti or need to arrange one, and where it will be placed.
- For Chaturthi, decide how many days the murti will stay and the family's visarjan plans.
